Parente was a happy third, the former championship leader finally bringing an end to a torrid run of form that had seen him fail to score a point in the last five races. His previously slim championship hopes are officially over now though.
Perera was a strong fourth on his debut and, along with Soucek's second place, moves Interwetten.com tantalisingly close to the team title, particularly as nearest rivals Draco failed to score. Instead, it is now only Carlin Motorsport that can complete the virtually impossible task of overhauling Interwetten.com, after Zaugg and Aleshin finished sixth and eighth. Comtec has also moved ahead of Draco after their impressive points haul.
Behind Perera in fifth was McIntosh, the Canadian almost certain to keep sixth in the championship now, while Montanari was seventh for Prema and James Rossiter was ninth to claim his first points since seventh round of the championship at Misano. Tenth was claimed by Miguel Molina, the young Spaniard taking his first point in the series by holding off the fast closing Maldonado, a result that also secures the first top ten finishing position for GD Racing since the fifth round of the series.
Oliver Jarvis meanwhile had a tough debut race for Victory Engineering, the British Formula Three front runner getting a good start to move up to 22nd by the end of the first lap before only being able to move up to 20th by virtue of various retirements. Fellow debutant and Formula Three counterpart Alberto Valerio was just a place further up the road in 19th.
