Monza 2007 - Duran surges to maiden win.

Sunday, 15th April 2007

The newly introduced reverse grid system threw up another maiden winner from the second World Series by Renault race of the weekend at Monza when Salvador Duran cruised to victory on his debut for reigning champions Interwetten Racing.

Miguez held on for fifth in the unfancied Eurointernational entry, ahead of Alburquerque who celebrated a pair of strong points finishes on his debut, while Giedo van der Garde recorded a wonderful seventh place finish from the back end of the grid, setting the race's fastest lap in the process.

He was joined in the points by eighth place Julien Jousse, Victory Engineering team-mate Charlie Kimball in ninth and finally Prema's Ben Hanley in tenth.
