Epsilon Euskadi should also be on the list of team’s to watch after scoring a marvellous 1-2 result at Nurburgring, Valsecchi leading young team-mate Filip Albuquerque over the line. Indeed, Albuquerque is quickly proving a revelation of the season, the Portuguese driver scoring well in all four races and moving up to third in the standings to be classed as easily the best placed rookie.
French team Tech 1 Racing will also be eager for a good result on what is almost home soil, with Alvaro Parente determined to score that first win for the team as he bids to improve upon his second in the championship. However, it may be worth watching his young team-mate Julien Jousse, who is a local from the Var region and will no doubt be looking to build upon his encouraging start to the season.
Elsewhere, Fortec Motorsport are likely to welcome back Richard Philippe to the squad, despite the Frenchman’s replacement Yelmer Buurman scoring the team’s first ever points in Germany, while Pons Racing and Eurointernational are two more teams who will want to build on their modest start to the year.
Finally, GD Racing and Comtec Racing will be searching for their first points of the year after a trying start to the season, although the latter team will have to do it without Monaco-specialist Jaap Van Lagen, who has left and has been replaced by Michael Herck.
