Over at Racing Engineering, meanwhile, there will be added determination to halt Glock's run of success, as former iSport team-mate Ernesto Viso makes his comeback after missing out on the
F1 testing deals he was chasing over the winter. The Venezuelan actually tested the vacant FMSI car at Ricard - while WTCC rookie Sergio Hernandez made a return to the Racing Engineering machine - but it is the double sprint race winner who replaces Sergio Jimenez at Alfonso d'Orleans Borbon's team. Viso did not enjoy the most cordial of relationships with Glock during their time together in 2006, and will no doubt carry extra motivation into his return.
iSport heads the team standings on 43 points, some 20 markers clear of nearest challengers Super Nova and ART Grand Prix - the latter welcoming back Michael Ammermuller this weekend after the German's fractured wrist was eventually declared fit for purpose. FMSI and Racing Engineering lie eleventh and seventh respectively.
Glock and Pantano won last year's races at Magny-Cours, with Alex Premat taking podiums in each round. Jose Maria Lopez and
Nelson Piquet Jr also featured in the top three.
