Valencia 2007: Glock takes title in style.

Timo Glock takes victory in the final GP2 Series race of the season at Valencia - taking the title with it.

Elsewhere, Luca Filippi was on a charge up the order after retiring from a points position in the feature race, the Italian starting 18th but ending the first lap ninth after threading his way through the order.

di Grassi was enjoying an afternoon of bountiful overtaking and was soon up to 13th from his 23rd place grid slot. However, his hopes of progressing further came to an abrupt halt when he came up behind 12th place Andreas Zuber, who was no doubt under strict instructions from iSport to keep him behind and aid his team-mate's title aspirations.

Not that Glock needing Zuber's help, as he simply pulled away from Villa, who looked as though he was giving up the fight for a dream win on home soil for both himself and Racing Engineering.

And so it proved, Glock crossing the line a clear five seconds up on Villa, the German slowing slightly in the latter stages as he nursed his car across the finish line.

Soucek held off the race long attentions from Garcia for third, the Spaniard doing a superb job to record DPR's second podium in as many meetings and making both his and the team's final points tally look more respectable than it did heading to Spa. Garcia ended a good, solid season for himself and Durango Corse in fourth, securing a top ten finishing position in the standings in the process.

Pantano held on for fifth place, with Filippi finishing off the season he started with a race win at Bahrain in sixth, his cause aided when Petrov enjoyed a trip off the circuit and slipped to eighth.

All eyes were on Glock though, the former Jordan F1 driver and Champ Car World Series front runner having his day again and no doubt courting plenty of interest from the Formula 1 teams he has aspired to over the years. Indeed, if Rosberg and Hamilton's success is anything to go by, Glock is likely to have several offers on the table by the winter. As for their identity, nothing is certain, although rumours have placed him at Toyota or Williams next year…
