Luca Filippi: Opening the account.

In his latest column for Crash.net, ART Grand Prix driver Luca Filippi looks back at the GP2 Series weekend at Magny-Cours – and his first points of the year.

I wanted to push again on the last lap but the team came on the radio and said calm down so I didn't try, but I think I would have been even faster: the potential was there and the car was good. Unfortunately, as we know Arden always has a set-up that works with the mechanical grip, and so they were faster at the beginning and had a big gap. But I am happy with what I achieved: I had a good race with no mistakes, and really pushed when it was the right time to push.

It was important for me and for the team from a motivation point of view, and to keep believing in what we do. We need to find some pure performance for qualifying and race one, because we are still a bit too slow on pure performance. But going home with a trophy was good, and the feeling I had on the podium was one I had almost forgotten about. I want to feel it again as soon as possible.
