NV:
Absolutely. Tim and I have had a real bond since last year in Formula Renault, which gave me the advantage to learn more quickly this year. I also learned a lot from him this year - he really is a huge contribution in the development of my racing career. We both are young and, together, we are trying to work our way up in formula racing. In the near future, I really hope we can provide the team with some great results, as we did last year in FRenault.
Q:
Is
FIA International F3000 one of the most competitive championships in the world?
NV:
The level is really high. For me, it was very tough to drive in such a highly competitive field after only one year in single-seaters but, then again, it was the right decision. The experience I have gained this season is enormous and, from that, I can only get stronger.
Q:
This weekend you race at your home grand prix - is that a special feeling?
NV:
Yes, it is. I like the idea of racing in my own country. I also think that it will give me a warm feeling to race on my favourite track and see my home fans again. I think that this feeling also exists in my team, as they are the only Belgian team in F3000. As I know the circuit well, we have a big advantage compared to the other races, because, for the first time this season, we can use the 30 minutes free practice to work on the set-up of the car instead of learning the layout of the circuit.
