Crash.net preview - Hockenheim GP2.

Friday, 22nd July 2005

After Olivier Pla became the eighth different winner in 13 GP2 Series races this year, the championship heads for its second weekend in Germany with several frontrunners looking to set the record straight with their own taste of champagne.

'Shark gill' vent covers for the left and right-hand sidepods have been used to great effect on the development car, and were tested successfully by Coloni and Arden at the last group test in June, while new Brembo caliper piston radiators and new rear brake ducts with larger inlets are both available for use from Hockenheim onwards. The modifications are not compulsory, but it is anticipated that the majority of teams will take up the option of fitting them as the championship approaches two of the potentially hottest rounds of its European season.
