Ernesto Viso finally got his season off to a belated start in Budapest, scoring points in race one having seen those accumulated in Germany lost to another penalty. The Venezuelan should have been the man to benefit from Pla's misfortune in Hungary, but had already seen an early second place lost to a recurrence of gearbox problems he thought had been banished mid-season....
Like Carroll and Bruni, Nelson Piquet and Jose Maria Lopez will hope to end their seasons on a more positive note. The pair round out the top ten in points, but Piquet has yet to see the top step of the podium, while Lopez will seek to erase the memory of two incidents that saw him give the safety car track time in Hungary.
Kovalainen's team-mate Nicolas Lapierre has yet to show consistent form in the second Arden car, but has to be considered among the outsiders for a good result this weekend, along with the likes of Borja Garcia, Hiroki Yoshimoto and Clivio Piccione, but this weekend will be a momentous occasion for one man in particular.
