Premat, Jose Maria Lopez, Hiroki Yoshimoto and Adam Carroll have all shown they have the potential to win - indeed, the Argentine and Briton did so last year - but need to do so again to prevent the leaders from stretching too far away. Yoshimoto's BCN team-mate
Timo Glock has shown flashes of inspiration on his switch from Champ Cars, but has not yet found a groove in which to run at the font on a regular basis, while Adrian Valles and Tristan Gommendy will both be hoping that a return to Spanish soil helps them to recover some of their Valencia form.
Xandi Negrao, Andreas Zuber, Franck Perera, Felix Porteiro and Luca Filippi have all been in or around the points this year - the Austrian only not scoring after a run of misfortune and Perera after seeing his 'Ring front row end at turn two - but the paddock will be without Filippi this weekend, the Italian having been supplanted at FMS by one of the paddock’s most colourful characters.
Despite having been linked to rides in both the IRL and Champ Car World Series, Giorgio Pantano makes his debut for the Petrol Ofisi-backed squad after it split with Filippi in the wake of some poor performances, bringing regular podium experience from his time with Super Nova in 2005. FMS hopes that that wealth of experience will help to bring it up to speed, having started the year, somewhat optimistically, with two complete rookies.
