Just a week after two epic encounters at Hockenheim, the GP2 Series decamps to the outskirts of Budapest for what could be an altogether different experience at the Hungaroring.
Although the series has shown that overtaking
is possible at the tight Hungarian venue, with just three rounds of the season remaining, and the championship battle is still raging, caution could take over on a circuit where passing proves difficult even for the masters of
F1.
This weekend’s results could prove pivotal in the battle for the crown, with
Lewis Hamilton having taken a handy lead over Nelson Piquet Jr and Alex Premat with another two podium results in Germany. Although Gianmaria Bruni and
Timo Glock took the race wins, neither is a major factor in the race for the title - despite Glock's recent form - and similar results for Hamilton in Hungary could allow him to put at least one hand on the champion's trophy.

Formula One next year.
ART could even secure its second straight teams' title this weekend, as it heads to Hungary holding a 131-75 point advantage over iSport International, which moved into second spot overall on the back of Glock's podiums and two fourth places for Ernesto Viso at Hockenheim. Despite Glock having scored more points than anyone - Hamilton included - since joining the British team, ART can wrap up the championship this weekend should it finish the Hungaroring event with a 66-point advantage over the rest of the field.
Last weekend, the difference between Gimmi Bruni’s GP2 pole and the best F1 practice lap-time on Friday was only six seconds, but, even more impressive, was the
