Paolo Maria Nocera has vowed that his performances will rise with every test in the new GP2 Series Dallara, having found his feet at the recent Paul Ricard test.
The Italian got his first taste of the new 2008-spec machine with BCN Competicion over two days at the French venue late last week, but was unable to break out of the bottom third of the timesheets as the team worked on sorting the car. However, with the Dallara's reliability now largely proven, Nocera hopes that he can show his true potential when the GP2 runners reconvene in Barcelona next Tuesday.
"In the past two days, we decided to work exclusively on the reliability of the car," he confirmed, - commented the Italian driver after he posted the 24th best time on the final day, "The GP2/08 is completely new for all teams and we thought to check the correct functioning of all its numerous parts as first thing.
"I accomplished a huge amount of work with the engineers, especially during the second day, and now we are ready to concentrate on performance during the remaining test sessions scheduled before the first race of the season.
"I have already established a good feeling with all the teamīs staff - we are all very determined to achieve good results quickly and we are giving our best for that. A very constructive professional relationship is being established with my team-mate, Milos Pavlovic, and this surely will be very useful during the season."
BCN didn't report any particular problems with the new car over the two days at Ricard allowing Nocera to rack up 350km overall and Pavlovic more than 400km.
