GP2 Series nomad Andy Soucek looks likely to drive for a fourth team in less than six months when he lines up for next week's official group test at Paul Ricard, after BCN Competicion revealed that it was in talks with the former Spanish F3 champion.

Soucek started the year contracted to DPR for the inaugural GP2 Asian Series, but lasted just one round before his summer series deal with Fisichella Motor Sport International made it impractical for him to continue with David Price's team However, having sat out the remainder of the winter competition, the Spaniard was dropped by FMSI in contentious circumstances, missing his home race at Barcelona in the process.

He then surfaced at Super Nova in Turkey, standing in for the injured Christian Bakkerud, before returning to DPR to fulfil a similar role in Monaco, covering for Michael Herck after the team had tried Giacomo Ricci for two rounds. With Herck likely to have recovered from his broken wrist by the time competition resumes at Magny-Cours in two weeks, Soucek was again facing unemployment.

However, with Adrian Valles heading for Le Mans with the Epsilon Euskadi prototype next weekend, and uncertainty surrounding Milos Pavlovic, BCN has revealed that Soucek will step in for the Ricard test, and 'negotiations to confirm the collaboration with the Spanish driver for the remaining of the season are in an advanced state'.

The Spaniard will run the only BCN car at the test, with Valles having been given approval to miss Ricard to concentrate on his Le Mans ambitions, but Pavlovic's future with the team remains clouded. The Serb missed the two Monaco races having been 'indisposed' on the eve of the feature, but no full explanation has been given for his absence, or why he will miss the Ricard session, which takes place over 10-11 June.
