Luca Filippi could race for BCN in the GP2 Asia Series after being confirmed for the pre-season test.

Luca Filippi is to make a return to the BCN Competicion team after it was confirmed he will test with them ahead of the first GP2 Asia round in China.

Although it isn't clear whether the Italian will race with the team in the upcoming series, the test may be a chance for Filippi to rebuild a reputation damaged by a stuttered 2008 GP2 campaign.

Filippi last competed with BCN at the end of the 2006 season when he was dropped by Fisichella Motorsport. While he has since gone on to become a GP2 race winner, a coveted switch to multiple champions ART Grand Prix this year ended bitterly mid-season after a series of disappointing performances.

Ending the season with Arden, Filippi was also evident in post-season testing last month with the DPR team. However, Filippi will be present at BCN for the GP2 Asia pre-season test in Shanghai ahead of what could involve a deal to race over the season.
