Team owner, KEVIN BUCKLER, was a factory Porsche team owner until this season when he expanded into the Daytona Prototype class with Krohn Racing to field two Pontiac Rileys. This season Buckler continues to run customer Porsches in the GT class. This weekend Buckler is running three GT cars: one with ROBERT NEARN, STEVE JOHNSON, and himself in #88 Comfort Systems USA Porsche 911 GT3 Cup starting on the front row; Bunting and Lally in #65 Auto Gallery/TRG Porsche 911 GT3 Cup starting twelfth in class for Sunday's race; and #64 Auto Gallery/TRG Porsche 911 GT3 Cup with DAVE MASTER and DAN PASTORINI, starting twenty-seventh in GT. And yes, it's THAT Dan Pastorini. He's retired from quarterbacking the Houston Oilers and is now living and working in the San Francisco Bay Area. Pastorini started his racing career as a youngster, at the Purple People Eater race track outside his father's restaurant in Northern California.

Sun Trust Racing changed from its familiar black and yellow paint scheme to a fresh new blue and red paint scheme, to reflect its new corporate logo. This meant new livery for the team, showing the new 'sunburst' graphics. The blue and red will still go nicely with the black and white checkered flag, said SunTrust Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, CRAIG KELLY. Car owner and driver WAYNE TAYLOR of South Africa won three races last year and finished second overall in the Daytona Prototype Driver's Championship. His co-driver, MAX ANGELELLI of Italy, also won thrice and was on pole once. He missed one race and finished fifth in the standings.

The Sun Trust team is owned by BILL RILEY, who build Riley chassis, and it is his shop which maintains the car and works at the races.
