There were 68 cars for Saturday's Monterey 200 Grand-Am Cup race, won by veteran Canadian drivers, DAVID EMPRINGHAM and SCOTT MAXWELL in #05 Ford Racing/Multimatic Motorsports Mustang.

Movie and TV actor PATRICK DEMPSEY has been bitten by the racing bug. He started racing the Panoz Series last season and this year ran in the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race at the Grand Prix of Long Beach. He retired after being involved in a crash with a car already into the tyre wall-he wasn't hurt.

The ten-lap race will be shown Sunday at 9:30am local time on SPEED Channel. The Pro winner was RHYS MILLEN, in his first-ever race with other competitors. He runs off-road endurance races and now is a star in the new Formula D - for Drifting - Series. The Celebrity winner was an unexpected, over the top excited FRANKIE MUNIZ of "Malcolm in the Middle."
