McDowell and Gidley are currently sixth in DP points with their highest finish being a second place, making McDowell the youngest driver on a Rolex Series podium.
Champ Car announced its 2006 TV package. It will have the most network broadcasts since 2002, with four CBS and three NBC telecasts, and the remaining seven races airing on SPEED TV. Long Beach, San Jose and Montreal will be on NBC, with the four CBS races in a summer block - Portland, Cleveland, Toronto and Edmonton. SPEED will air Houston, Milwaukee, Denver, Las Vegas, Korea, Australia and both Mexican races.
A very fit and trim TEO FABI was taking it all in Friday and enjoying visiting with his old racing buddies in both the Champ Car pits and Grand Am pits.
Also in the pits were DALE JANTZEN, San Jose Grand Prix President, and BOB SINGLETON, San Jose Grand Prix Vice President. They have a press conference scheduled next week in San Jose to discuss the 2006 race.
Sunday's race on the 2.786-mile road course will be 70 laps. The Push to Pass time is increased to 180 seconds. The race will be telecast live on SPEED TV at 3:45 pm ET.
