AJR's PIR drivers are Rockenfeller and Patrick Long, who both were in Houston Friday night for the ALMS race. Marcel Tiemann ran the qualifying race Friday night and was uninjured in the crash. Long finished fourth in GT2 class, tenth overall, in the White Lightning Porsche 911 GT3 RSR. Long's Houston teammate was Jorg Bergmeister, who races No. 76 Krohn Racing Ford Riley with Colin Braun.
The Howard-Boss Motorsports No.4 The Boss Snowplow Pontiac Crawford is all repaired and good to go after Friday night's accident while Andy Wallace was driving. The team is busy working on set-ups and strategy for the mid-afternoon half-hour warm-up. Wallace's co-driver is Butch Leitzinger, who flew in this morning from Houston. Leitzinger finished sixth overall and in the P1 class, co-driving with James Weaver in No.16 Dyson Racing's Lola B06/10 AER.
The Howard-Boss Motorsports team brought two cars to last weekend's race at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, and came straight to Phoenix. The second car, a show/test car went to the nearby Pontiac Proving Ground for various tests.
After Friday night's accident, which damaged three Crawfords, the team did its part to ease the drain on the available parts at the Crawford Parts Truck, which goes to every race. Boss Motorsports used parts off the test car, which was never designed to be a backup car.
Update on the other three damaged cars to follow. Edmondson will be holding a Media Conference Saturday afternoon to further discuss the change in Qualifying procedures.
