An engine problem brought about an early end to the weekend for the SAMAX Motorsport team, preventing a potentially strong result around the Mid-Ohio course.
Although hopes were high for the Ryan Dalziel-Henri Zogaib led team, but overheating problems ensured they wouldn't get any further than seven laps.
It was a disappointing outcome for the team after the BMW-Riley had been one of the pace setters during free practice and qualifying, much to Dalziel's frustration.
“Well again the car was fast all weekend,” the Scot said. “We were one of the front-running entries and our pace on Saturday morning, when I was fastest in the first session and held the top-spot for the majority of the second session, certainly underlined that. That's the positive thing we have to take from an event like this!
“The SAMAX car's been good at every track we've visited so it's unfortunate that we've had a couple of luckless race's in June.
Daytona's up next and as it's our home race we're certainly hoping that we'll have a bit of a turn-around and get back up where we belong.”
