Chris V won that race solely on the luck of the draw/gamble with coming in at the right time to switch bikes/tires for the rain....okay, he is a rain wizard, I do not doubt that, but if he was that good in the rain, then he would have been pressuring Rossi and Stoner at the Sachsenring Race, not just bringing it home in 3rd...

Do I think Chris would have beetter results on a better bike? No doubt.

Do I think Ben Spies will have mediocre results if he comes on next year with Suzuki? No doubt.

Okay, let's re-think this:

Sachensring podium: Chris the V is a WET WEATHER SPECIALIST. His B'stone tires were THE SUPERIOR CHOICE IN THE WET.

Laguna Seca Podium: Chris the V is a LAGUNA SECA SPECIALIST. His B'stone tires were FAR SUPERIOR rubber over the competition.

These podiums mean nothing to me in regards to Suzuki making headway with the GSVR, I write it off to merely GOOD/GREAT RIDING and GREAT TIRE TECHNOLOGY.

Yeah, he has a LOT of smaller injuries. I sure hope he heals well...

BUT, my only concern after watching his crash.....the dude need to learn how to slide down a wet track, not try and sit upright before you even hit the grass/dirt!! What was that about?? He would have much less injuries has he stayed low and flat, then the grass bump would not have 'launched' him.

Get well and race, Mr. Personality, a.k.a. Hayden-Basher. I do not care for you myself, but Casey and Vale need you to make this championship interesting.

(pat myself on the back...)

Yes, folks...you heard it from me FIRST (yesterday, i cannot remember which forum/article i posted it on) that Sete would replace Marco for the ramainder of '08 and then end up w/Alice for '09 with Nicky possibly w/Marlboro ...

When it comes to USA Ducati Sales, Nicky Hayden will have a MUCH GREATER IMPACT in America than Casey and Sete combined.....even if Sete shows well for '08 (which I doubt, and I am a Gibbers Fan).

right, thanks Harms...I sorta know most of that stuff. Maybe Team Aspar will get a shot at d'Antin's Ducatis, no?

...but, who was Gibernau's crew chief? wasn't this the same guy? i think it's the same name...

A podium?!?! pgoda, did you forget what brand motorcycle he will be riding?

He is not to the point of being able to corner the GSV-R like Hopkins does, as that is what it will take for a Suzook to keep up with the front-runners.

BenSpies will be lucky if he ends up Top 5. If here were on a pneu-Honda or Yam M1, then maybe he could podium.

Um, correct me if I am wrong....but, didn't Daijiro Kato die from injuries sustained from hitting a wall that was parallel with the racing path??

Corser confuses me: he seems like Pedrosa-- he can win if he can run away with it, but if he has to mix it up with other riders, then he ends up 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc...

You might be on to something, Sasha... I don't think we've seen hardly any crashes from Melandri, unless de Puniet was in close proximity Maybe he just isn't pushing hard enough.

LOL, he needs to spend a week with Bayliss to learn how to grab a bike by the neck and THROW IT AROUND!!

Looks like 'what comes around, goes around'...even 10 years later!!

I do like Capirex, and I do wish him a speedy recovery.

Jeez, with those funky gloves w/the massive padding on the back, how could he possibly injure any part of either hand??

 1 people agree.

It is a different ball-game now. 250 riders don't need the finesse of high-hp throttle control, they just need to figure out how to set up a bike so it will corner fast.

Doesn't practially everything in WSBK have some sort of Traction Control on it? Other than track knowledge (or, lack thereof), I don't see why a strong superbike rider cannot make the jump.

Hayden- unfortunately, most folk refer to him as the 'Fluke Champion'...right place, right time, right consistency of finishes.

Schwantz- how do those bikes from 15-20yrs ago compare to now? wasn't he another ''right place, right time' champ?

Doohan- the 'master' of the 500. once he figured out how to ride w/out losing a leg or finger in a crash, he was untouchable. Too bad he had NO real competition in a championship that he won. Prob would have won two more had he now destroyed his leg on the wet, white line :(

Back then, it was better if you had experience riding a big, powerful bike that came out of the corner sideways. Too bad Nicky wasn't born about 10 years earlier!!

What gives ?!? What is the big difference between setting up a 125/250 on Ohlins/Showa works suspension bits and a Factory Duc/Suz/Honda/Kawi with the same parts?? I do remember Colin saying that his old RC51/SP2 was like riding a majic couch compared to the MOTOGP bikes, but can't a really good rider ride ANYTHING that is thrown at him???
