While I agree that Wilson had no reason to bash Latvala like he did, I don't think he's trying to make room for Matthew. He isn't daft, and he knows Latvala will be world champ one day. I can only imagine he's trying to hammer into Jari the point of how important the pace notes are, but there was absolutely no need for the harshness in his quotes!

As a rally fan, I really hope the WRC doesn't turn into the place all the F1 drivers go when they're bored of F1. What with Kubica threatening to go, and now Raikkonen, chances are these drivers are more likely to get a top seat drive than the "proper" rallyers who are climbing up through lower ranks.

Worst kept secret for a while! At least now he can concentrate on STR for the rest of the year. Very good choice by Red Bull: as good as Alonso is, in Vettel they have a future world champion, as opposed to a departing one.

No, I mean flu. Hence why I said 'flu'.

I really don't understand why people feel the need to bash the hell out of the Wilsons. Us Brits have ONE British driver to support (two at a push if by some fluke Barry Clark is competing), but all people seem to want to do is critise Matthew, and throw around every possible reason why he doesn't deserve his drive! And so unfairly. This story is about him winning 2 points, but obviously that means he doesn't deserve his seat. It's stupid.

Dafydd - at least there's two of us that give our support to Matt!

Right, for starters, I think the "brilliant" is referring to the fact that he has been struggling with the flu throughout the whole 4 days, in temperatures exceeding 35 degree Celsius. You couldn't have coped. Hell, Gigi Galli couldn't cope!

Next, was he last? No. Did he make any stupid mistakes? No. Did he brings valuable points home for Stobart? Yes.

People need to get off his case. I'll happily admit that if his dad wasn't Malcolm he may have struggled to get a drive, but guess what? His dad IS Malcolm, he DOES have a drive and he's doing a damn good job.

I (almost) agree entirely on the prospect of Latvala. He's got an amazing amount of speed, and is only improving. The only thing I don't agree on is the comparison to Hamilton, who has been handed a career on a plate: Jari-Matti at least had to prove himself in the Stobart first. But other than that, yes, Jari-Matti has every chance on showing up Hirvonen throughout the year and even really challenging Loeb. His stagetimes in some places have been phenomenal, you can see why Loeb rates him so highly.

I also agree with your mention of Mikkelsen. Ford know they have a big talent there, hence the partnership with Gronholm. Expect big things from him as soon as he gets a full time drive.

The official name of the rally is indeed Rally of Turkey, so I'd tend to agree with the 'editor' on this one...

I think something has been lost in translation here, how on earth is Brundle in hot water for saying that, when James Allen can make some atrocious comments about Kubica is beyond me. The "Brad Pitt" line was uncalled for and offensive, and other personal highlight was when he compared Kubica to some "chewing gum on the sole of your shoe".

Seriously, the man is a moron. I don't know how he has managed to keep his place alongside Martin. And if he tells me ONE more time what the white stripe on the tyre is for, I will be forced to write another sarcastic email to ITV, thanking them for the insider information.

I don't care if you're being ironic, you're dragging up Lewis when the article has nothing to do with him! The comments on this story should be about Kubica, BMW and maybe at a push, Heidfeld, yet somehow you're all discussing the ins and outs of Hamilton. Again!

This article has NOTHING to do with Lewis. Who cares what would happen IF Lewis had said it? He didn't, Robert did and he has as much right as anyone to state his intentions for the upcoming season.

Thank God! ITV's coverage has been appalling this year, a real disappointment. Hopefully Dave will have the sense to make it watchable again.

Admittedly, Matt probably got a leg-up into the WRC like no-one else has, but think of the pressure on his shoulders now. Britain's only full time WRC driver (expected to follow in the massive footsteps left by Colin and Richard), he's been given a competitive car and told to prove himself; to the fans, to the other teams/drivers and to his father, who is probably his harshest critic. Given that amount of pressure, on someone not even 21 yet, i think the results he has achieved so far are brilliant, and if he continues this way, taking advice, driving and finishing rallies and setting some quick times as he goes, i don't see any reason why he won't end up in a top team, winning rallies.

HAYL3Y - Yes, but Alonso "wasn't allowed" to beat Lewis in '07, but he still tried.

And if Fisi was supposed to be concentrating on developement and testing in 2005, he should have been a specialist testing. What is the point of having a race seat if you are using it to develop the car?!

As good as Fisichella is, he (along with Barrichello, Trulli, Ralf and DC) should really step down and let the new blood shine through. Fact is, Fisichella had a championship winning car in 2005 AND 2006 and couldn't beat his teammate...

Force India want experience? Fine, but how about a driver who has race experience, points winning potential and is still young? Klien, Liuzzi and certainly Sutil ALL deserve a seat.... why waste it?
