It looks like being a cracker race, as good as last year I hope ( with the same result )
I'm sure it will end up depending on tyre wear and fuel usage, not so much outright speed, whoever can preserve his rubber and have enough fuel to go hard for the last few laps will have it won..just my opinion .
Stoner went from Honda to Ducati in their first year as an 800 and won the championship, so Rossi is't the first to go to a new manufacturer and win the world championship, also Stoner didn't design /develop the GP7 only tailored to his needs, the same as Rossi didn't design/develop Yamaha's M1 800.
But stuff all that, lets just hope for a close fast and safe race !!
I have never slagged Rossi and have followed him since 125s,and I think he has been great for MotoGP but please give Stoner credit where it's due,I have seen All the top riders "lose it" at times, witness Hayden in qualifying yesterday,he's the nicest bloke out there and he lost his cool with Toseland.
If everyone was honest about Rossi he had the best of everything compared to Stoner, being European helped, his father being an ex racer helped, having works Aprilla's helped, having the best race engineer in the business helped, having the best bike in 500 class helped, being on the "A" michelins his whole career helped, and having great sponsers helped as well..
The same hate is directed at Hayden for daring to win the championship in 06, maybe not as much because he did have a lot of luck on his side and Stoner won in 07 with skill and race wins .
Witness his performance in the wet using the same BS tires as Rossi, the boy is brilliant and would shine on any factory bike in my opinion.
Neither Depuniet or West have set the world on fire this year, lying 13th and 15th (West) with 4 points between them.
But please note that West didn't ride the whole of the 07 season, from Donington on ( rd 8) and only finished 49 points behind RDP,give the lad a chance, it's only the 3rd race this weekend .
