I've been trying to watch the RoC for the past few years here in Oz ... but I am not sure where I can get it? I've checked out Foxtel the past few times (the rights holder here) and haven't been able to get a concrete time or date for when its shown. Does anyone have any idea when it will be shown here?
Webber's a champ. Having watched him race Formula Ford as a kid, I am immensely proud to see him succeeding. Accessible, friendly and probably THE most down to earth F1 driver, he gets nothing but praise from me. I wish him the best of luck for the RoC.
Well done Mark! I am really proud of you having followed you since Formula Ford here in Oz its great to see you getting the results you so truly deserve. All of your supporters, of which there are many, all know you have that win inside of you. Good luck for the race.
This is all building towards a very successful year and hopefully next year too. As an open wheel racer from Oz - your options are very limited at home. What Mark has achieved cannot be downplayed at all. To succeed in Formula One takes more than money and to put a car like the Red Bull on the front row ahead of the likes of Ferrari and McLaren PLUS multiple world champions is BRILLIANT!!!
Please correct me if I am wrong - but I just checked the sunset time for Melbourne for this years race. The sun set at 6:38pm. If the race begins at 5pm - that could mean that the race continues after sunset with a 2hr race due to rain or whatever other delay.
I wonder how this would sit with the teams and drivers? Or is it just another challenge to overcome?
Unfortunately, Sydney does not have a decent track or a government willing to support a decent street circuit.
Pie in the sky stuff is what this is.
But ... for any optimists reading this ... imagine a street circuit around the Rocks area (under the Harbour Bridge) it would be a MASSIVE draw card for Sydney.
... and another thing - I am disappointed that F1 is becoming such a "holier than though", virtuous pile of politically correct, sanctimonious, "oooh you can't do that", steaming pile of follow the leader that Max's antics help spice things up a bit!
But seriously ... what would former F1 characters like James Hunt have to say about this?
I agree that he has been done wrong here - The News of the World is trash for dragging MM through the mud like this!
Nobody really gives a **** what he does in his spare time (family and friends not included) .. but his job is the FIA and that is where he should be publicly held to account - not in some S&M bondage den splashed on the front page of a disgusting, filthy rag of a paper!
I know we are all in the dark regarding the setup of the cars and what format they were testing when running... but top of the time sheet is encouraging.
Please please please let the gods, luck and Seb Vettel be kind to Mark this year.
