No world champ is a fluke...but hayden had plenty of luck in 06, top riders out and injured makes a big difference...and elias taking out rossi on the first corner of the season helped...
hayden won the title by 5 points, the second half of the season, he rode for a handful of points, not for wins, because he was too afraid of dropping it and losing all the points in 1 or 2 races.
How many wins did hayden have in 06....2....when has 2 wins ever won someone a championship, especially when you look back @ his other results over the year.
come on, the yamaha wasnt great in 2004, where did the other 3 riders on it finish the races?
rossi and his crew brought some fresh and brilliant ideas to yamaha, if you have read rossi's book, you'll know what the yamaha was like in 2003.
so lets face it, rossi has changed yamaha and made them a winning team...and also has proven that the bike has not been built to suit him, as all 4 yam's are doing well this season.
ever think there might be political reasons behind the fact none of the riders made a protest...i remember hearing them say something about possibly being arrested if they were to do anything...you dont know anything about the situation, so why mention it.
Unless of course like most who on ere claim to be motogp experts, ur some political fella who knows everything about everything...
but i doubt that, i can see from ur comments ur clearly lacking the common sense and knowledge...
so whats wrong with rossi retaining the title if he has to work for it?
todays race wasnt boring and i know a lot of people would be happy to see rossi work and win the 2008 championship...it certainly wudnt make the sport boring..
nor was it boring in 2003, 2004 and 2005...rossi was pushed by gibernau in 2003, same again in 2004, ok rossi was on top in 2005, but that was honda's fault for sending out god knows how many honda's to beat one yamaha, and not concentrating on a proper factory team.
In 2004, rossi didnt have the best bike, anyone with some knowledge of motogp wud be able to see that.
now now marty, your boy got a whooping today, 16 seconds behind someone on the same tyre...they were both on medium compounds so what can you make of that...
also...
check this out marty...
Jerez Rossi - 2nd, Stoner - 11th
Estoril Rossi - 3rd, Stoner - 5th
China Rossi - 1st, Stoner - 3rd
I think it might be safe to say rossi and yamaha have ducati's number, email address and pager...they have him covered..
hopefully in time you'll be able to deal with this...if not...atleast you've got troy bayliss hey...
Lucifer, i think honda need to concentrate more on corner exit speed, they seem to be lacking a lot of grunt.
i doubt the top end will be much faster, like the yamaha, they've worked on improving the acceleration and gained about 8k's top end...i think you'll see similar from honda.
honda's new engine wont see them run away with the championship, the only thing that could do that, is pedro's consistency, which seems to be on top form at the moment.
It's gonna be a great battle, one we should all try to enjoy!
My point is, rossi haters have been all over this board saying he's over the hill on his times up, i've always argued the case like many, you can never count off someone who's a 7 time world champion and is only 28yrs old.
Yes, yamaha have a brilliant bike this season, but also he's now on the same tyre's as stoner, which is what most people wanted to see, yet still thought rossi wouldnt beat him.
I'm not saying stoner his a bad rider or not good enough, that would just be stupid...he has talent thats clear to see, what he needs to see, is that this season, he's gonna have to work harder than he did last year.
