Off the start line and into the first corner LH could easily have caused a major incident, perhaps serious injuries or death and all because he can't drive. Why was it not more serious? because every other driver took avoiding action.
Massa's incident was as bad as it could have been, as such innocuous and only deserved a minor penalty. Hamilton should have been banned for at least 3-races and docked 20 points!
Marc- Most actually spent those years wishing someone- anyone would beat MS. Furthermore (although undoubtedly the best F1 driver of the modern era) Schumacher downfall was his total lack of sportsmanship and his winning record though impressive will forever be tainted (like LH). While MS was a dominant but great driver LH is not nearly in the same class. A drivers equivelent of a class bully without the skill to control the car once he stuffed it up the inside!
LH will probable never win a WDC and if he does it will have nothing to do with being the best driver, while FA is driving that accolade will be his and LH will have to compete with all the other young guns for the minor places.
"He made many flat spots, that is true," said Hamashima. "When there is a flat spot, it means there is a very thin shoulder area close to the ground. So maybe a sharp stone touched the sidewall, meaning there was a possibility to cause a puncture."
The question still appears to be far from settled to me, was it just one of those things or is the circumstantial evidence mounting?
FooAtari... Bridgestone also comment on the numerous flat-spots present, while Massa's boots should have been like thruppenny bits from the first corner there was little further evidence of habitual flatting which is probably the case with LH?
Grumpy_Doctor... The question is do you believe the hype of RD and James Allen, certainly RD won't divulge performance data and James Allen can't!
The only graphic relating to fuel fill was that of LH pit-stop at the end of lap 41 he took on an estimated 82ltrs of fuel enough (plus what was onboard) to complete race distance. Fuel consumption is low in Hungary at 2/2.5Kg/lap would have been estimated (s.g. of 0.74), say 2.7/3.38ltrs/lap with 29 laps to complete (including in-lap), all you can say with certainty is that LH had 5 laps of fuel or was running on fumes when he pitted. FM pitted 2 laps later, at best LH had 3 laps at a 0.3sec/lap advantave, not anywhere near enough to jump FM.
05 was certainly a case of a megalomanic getting the better of rational compromise (and eventually the amputation of a nose to spite the face of every motor-sport fan worldwide). Not one of Mosley's finest hours and I'd agree that they (the circuit) deserve something by way of consideration for the embarrassment caused for such monumental stupidity!
However, there are GP's and there are GP's, Monaco, Melbourne, Spa and The Brickyard all have something and I'd have it back at the drop of a hat and drop practically any of the anemic far-eastern tracks to achieve that goal.
This is a non story, LH (or pop) can quite legitmatly withdraw, all the've done is fail to profit from some of the best PR money can't buy. Button on the other hand is highly unlikley to have been derogatory about LH over this and as is common in the press misrepresented.
PH has little credibility, unfortunately neither he nor FW took the opportunity to condemn Mosley when the integrity of the FIA was actually at stake.
Todt's succession (as Head well knows) was never a serious concern, Mosley's preferred option was always a non starter Todt being highly unpopular throughout the FIA and a proverbial red herring for Head to suggest otherwise.
Whatever prompted William's F1 to tacitly support Mosley is unknown and speculation useless but the teams authority (a bastion of F1) took an severe knock that day when some solidarity and good sense was the order of the day!
Put it in perspective, Hamilton was suckered in, he tried every which way to get out of something he thought would dent his super-boy image. That's fine as far as it went and no criticism of Lewis. But he's on to a loser with the press at present and even more loss of face on account of this.
But and this is a big but, had he gone out there, even losing spectacularly he would have been the winner, Hamilton Sr+Jr missed the best PR opportunity imaginable, he couldn't buy that press for a million never mind £10,000.
Finally, don't quote his token charity work at me, why didn't he stay put and pay UK taxes and help fund a new children's hospital like the rest of us taxpayers!

Might be a great bike circuit, but they'll never re- create the magic of the Silverstone track (no magic in the facilities). Neither are good regards access and the only way to make it halfway enjoyable is by bike and even then it a struggle.
As already mentioned BE just has to be the mystery donor doing a bit of insider trading as it were, taking a hit on the price to fund the contract, bear in mind BE is only the front man for FOM/ CVC and probably fed up working commission only.
Maybe, but Honda like several on the grid (inc McLaren with exception of 2007) have needed to up their game for years, if they and others failed to make the grade under current regulations would you put money on it being better in 2009?
Ferrari (no fan and more acceptable with FM/KR as pilots) just seem relentless and FA, if he has to waste 2/3 years on development with Honda will have seen his best years slip away.
