Frank had links with the Spanish Bultaco Factory and would tune the bike and run his own rider at British National level. Prior to that he made a 'Sheene Special' which was a 50cc but I can't remember any facts about that. Anyway when Barry was old enough Frank let him run the bikes in to save his main rider having to do it. It wasn't long before Barry was quicker than the sponsored guy. The rest is history.

Lucifer, as you say 1 second covering a shed load. Different background of riders, different levels of riders, different makes of bikes, engine formats etc. A huge grid. Why oh Why can't it be like that in Motogp??
When I helped out a friend who raced 125cc and 250cc Bultaco's we used to take the engine to Frank's workshop for tuning. Barry, I think, was 14-15yrs old then. He was a laugh at that age.
Good Morning Morgue, we seem to have this page to ourselves!!
I have decided to post on the other side using an unregistered name. In case you are interested it is 'Hillbilly'. (it reflects my passion for Bluegrass music)
Busy today but I will be fitting in watching WSBK on Eurosport. Can't wait.
Morgue 3 years ago Mrs Codger bought herself a VW campervan 1966. Bought it as a wreck and my son is refurbishing it for her. It was originally slate blue, now it is surprise surprise ....Cream over Pink!!
Jonny, before Hopper entered Motogp I read an article about him where it was said that, at that stage of his career, he was better than Schwantz!! So I kept an eye him and I liked his elbow down style, I liked his 100% commitment, and I liked his passion (that includes publicly kicking hell out of his Suzuki when it broke down). I also like the fact that he nearly always finishes in front of his team mates. Sadly, as we all know, he has shown too much of these things and has suffered injuries.
Aegis, well done on the little one. Welcome to me and Salty's 'Worlds best Grandads' club. Ellie May sounds good, did none of your family not consider Hopper in there somewhere? Tell Miss Aegis that you'll paint the bike pink with white Bridgestones, that should swing it.
Please stop calling England sh1teland, you and I are the only Brits on here amongst all these foreigners.
Morgue, the Steam Pump link was so good. I want one of those pumps just to watch it running. The pet Elephant sounds good, but I don't think they can be house trained.
Hello Aegis, I'll get back to you. Are you sure that MM is still in Blackers, or still in England, or somewhere near Dani ? Did you see the Corkscrew incident on the back page of MCN ? Signing off for a while now.
Nice picture of the incident on the back page of MCN rich ard. Taken from head on it shows Rossi clearing the dirt and his front wheel just on the rumble strip. This must be taken after he had lost the back end. Stoner meanwhile is looking unperturbed, both wheels in the centre of the wide rumble strip. It looks as though his front wheel is almost clear of Rossi's rear wheel. He had a full view of Rossi's muckup so I don't know how he thought Rossi could get back on the track.
Yes Morgue and to think no lessons have been learnt, they'll be finding land mines for centuries. And they are still burying them now in various parts of the world.
Impressed with Jonny's boat, wish I had one, I've never seen anything like it. I looked it up on Google, it looks like a lovely place to live, not too far from Wayne Gardners birth place I see. (I looked at your links too, nice place)
