How quickly people forget that only a couple of years ago Michelin dominated on almost all the tracks... I was surprised Rossi chose Bridgestone but he seemed to do it more to spite them than anything else. It turned out he was right. Michelin started the season off pretty decently but have really collapsed in the last couple of races. Time will tell if they can fix their problem.
To the folks calling for a single manufacturer, this is not a good idea. Motogp is about innovation and putting everything together. It is thanks to Michelin dominance we have such good Bridgestones now. The moment only one manufacturer hogs the entire field the development would stop. Peace!
I'm surprised by how much consensus there is related to this. IMO it is all wrong to even talk about this. MotoGP is NOT about limiting corner speed, it is about getting the absolute maximum speed out of a 2 wheeled vehicle anywhere on track including the corners.
I think the class should be open and unlimited. I'd love to see 800s vs 1000s and even 1400cc engines on the same track.
Riders are in favor of a same manufacturer tyre - however, this is because the tyres have become so important and when one manufacturer fails to do well.
Bottom line, this discussion is all wrong. I watch motoGP for the speed, limit and standardize and you've killed the beast (and the fun.)
Jacko I really don't know why you dislike Americans so much that you want to remove the MotoGP races from this country..? Indy may be good, lets wait to see how many will show & how it will go eh?
The Laguna Seca track is amazing and the reason why more people don't go is facilities, not lack of interest. I think on race day the track has had 50K+ each time there has been a US GP, definitely on average over 50k, and the capacity is 50K unlike some other tracks. Despite your attitude I can assure you many Americans dislike Nascar and F1 and actually follow MotoGP rather religiously, I'm one of them. There should always be at least one US race each season imho. Peace!
I feel sorry for him being hurt like this, the guy is definitely brave and I hope he can return to good health by next season and challenge for the top. He proved his potential at the start of the season but these huge crashes have taken their toll now.
It's all fine, Hayden will go to Ducati and beat whoever replaces him next season, badly. Honda never supported him properly, even the season he won the championship for them they seemed to play against him.
Capirossi is one of my favorite riders hands down, I love watching the guy race and win. The moment Ducati axed him I said it was a dumb move for them, he made that bike what it was.
CV has done nothing but impress me too. Suzuki as a bike is very weak this year, only the Kwaks seem worse off but there's no way Suzuki can compete with yamaha or honda or stoner+ducati.
I think Rossi learned a lesson from 2 years ago related to consistency and seems to be riding perfect to win the championship this year. It's not over though, Pedrosa is too close and Stoner can easily catch up. Assen should be good though, I expect a huge battle there. Hopefully Colin will go well again too!
Sure Sete can come back but you guys seem to forget the curse he has over his head. After Qatar a few years back when his team screwed Rossi and Biaggi by complaining they were dusting their starting boxes and Rossi crashed out of the race. This was the last race Sete won and resulted in Rossi cursing him along the lines of: "you'll never win a MotoGP race again!" Sure enough he never won again, matter of fact he never really challenged again after that. He was like a broken man.
This revealed another quality of Rossi (besides being very good on bikes)... he's also a prophet! Curious to see if he can break the curse but I think he is old and tired, best to stay out of it now.

What he needs to do is stop crashing during pracs, qual sessions. It is not worth taking the risks at all, get used to the track, warm up the tyres and save the high risk stuff for the race. His race results have been amazing, I hope he doesn''t burn himself out.
I'm curious to know if these laps were on race tyres, can anyone confirm? If they are on race tyres the rest of the championship becomes very unclear because we see a huge improvement by Stoner and HRC's new engine looks like it will work...
Either way this is a very unpredictable season, I'm enjoying the show even though I can't help but cringe at how badly Marco is doing :(
Haahahaha, Jay-o that made me LOL. I honestly think Rossi will do well and I expect a top 4 finish from him. His race pace was equivalent to the top 3 for sure and clearly they have some setup problems.
That being said I'm rooting for him to win, ugly leathers and all!
