Ganassi creates Rolex history.

Ganassi creates Rolex history.

Chip Ganassi Racing has taken its place in history after becoming the first team to win the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona for three successive seasons.

Thats a fantastic acheivement for sure, however is it just me that thinks all these cautions ruin the racing in modern endurance series? DOn't get me wrong I'm all for safety but this isn't Nascar, having cautions virtually everytime someone spins in a 24 hour race is just daft, why cant they cover these things with localised yellow flags? It's the same in so many series these days, the slightest hint of trouble and we the caution gets thrown.

Whilst the cautions did keep the field very close until the last last few hours, they made the race very hard to watch. Everytime everyone got up to speed another caution would appear. Unfortunately this is the case with a lot of American series/races. I remember back in 1998, when the FIA GT Championship ran at Laguna Seca, they ran to more American rules with regards to yellow flags than what we're use to in Europe and probably most of the world.

But anyway, congratulations to Ganassi and the drivers of the 01 car, they did a fantastic job!

I am American and live here in the US and I tell you, yes, security is one of the reasons but the main reason is the entertainment factor because we all know that many of the situations yes, could be resolved with a local yellow.
Racing in this country has long been entertainment over real racing... just look at NASCAR and many other (not all) series run here.
