Hmm Dukes 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th in their second race. Me thinks they had better get some weight on them as for such a new bike to be so commanding so quickly sounds like the start of the Ducati cup all over again.

Well done Fonsi. That was a very good ride.
Anybody know what's with the commentators on WSBK website, geez I thought they were gona pop down to the paddock and lay it on for Bayliss.,it was embarrasing..
As a motorcycle race fan it was really dissappointing to see the ducs so dominant in their first race and a sure sign that the powers at be did very little in terms of research before allowing a homolagation special in and not your bog standard road bike(wish I could afford on though!), think they may have to ride pillion at PI(this is probably their worst track!!!). Still if your a ducati fan the racing was pretty good...

The Ducati's were the slowest bikes there....well except the kawasaki's, the ducati's made time in the corners they look like they have parity thats for sure.
Just becuase Troy, Rueben and Max are ultra fast doesnt mean the bikes should be slowed down the 1098 is the heaviest has less power then the I4's and the slowest on the straights.....thats why they kept getting passed.

That's exactly my point Ace, slowest bike, fastest track and still the fours cannot touch them...if you heard TB, it was acceleration out of the corners the Ducs had....parity is in the eye of the beholder...

Had Bayliss,Biaggi and Xaus ridden the Suzuki with the same
results as today nobody would had complain about the bike being
too good!! Ducati have a very good bunch of riders, so the results
tend to reflect that that is the bike that is so fast.

Just about the first race, if i remember rightly rossi give biaggi the finger a few years ago, biaggi must be feeling deja vu

Biaggi just looks to be taking risks, I know it's racing but he's sticking it into corners hard and not carrying it though. I'm not just referring to the Haga incident

none of max moves were dangerous, even the ones he run wide with, he didnt lock a brake or have the back end sliding so wasnt out of control. and the ones he did complete were hard but fair.

dont think any rider did anything wrong, only one mad a strange mistake and sadly for him he paid for it, but if u give it out u should take it. but he should know that by now, if he didnt he does now so roll on PI and good luck to nori, hope he comes back strong. a great performance by Corser, what ever happened(tyres?) he held on well to get good points.

Yes guy but the Suzukis don't have a capacity advantage do they......

Saying the Ducatis are the "slowest" isn't really accurate. It's the bikes average speed around the track including corners that makes it fast not it's max speed on the straight. The big twins have softer power and big torque allowing then better, smoother corner exits which also puts less aggressive strain on the tyres.

I think this preferential treatment for Ducati is asking for trouble, I would have told them to shove it & come back with a bike that can compete on equal terms. If their product is inferior to the rest and has "special needs" then it shouldn't be on the grid.

The Suzuki was 7km/h faster down the straight;the Ducati's do have less power than the Suzuki, with the 50mm restrictor amputating their potential, but they surely have BUCKETLOADS of torque to pull past the peaky 1000's.

I wonder what Bayliss was on. He looked like he was going to bin it.Even with 11 laps to go in the 1st race, he was riding like it was his last lap of the season. Get a grip Troy!!!

FanBoi; I agree with what you say, but on the other hand the "japs", like Honda with the SP1/2 before, can make a 1.2-2 Cyl. KTM may join as well, and BMW for sure in 2009! Although I agree, they may have to trim the restrictor down a little. 6 Ducs in the top 10 is a lot... ;)

I really missed the "onboard" camera's on eurosport. Did you get "onboard" camera work from internet-streams?

And, by the way, did anyone notice the enormous amount of lights already in place for the MotoGP nightrace? They'll need a seperate powerstation to run the circuit...

Lets not get to carried away claiming a Ducati bike advantage, the three best riders happen to be on Ducatis, the way Suzuki powered past and then won with Nieto, who is not the same class of rider shows Suzuki has the advantage.

suzuki look very good, especially down the straights. to see nieto win on his debut weekend for alstare shows his potential but in race 1, neukirchner was amazing. if you look at the leading group, neukirchner was easily the least experienced but the calmest until his tyres went. i still think the dukes will dominate but alstare look good and when neukirchner wins (he will at some point this year), him and nieto will form a good team. kagayama just does not look good enough.

Nice point Harryx, in the days of being seen to be "Green" I wonder what the MotoGP
circus will gain from running a race at night under electric sunlight conditions? It didn't seem to bother the WSBK guys today running during the day did it?
What a waste of electricity. All for the "benefit" of running the race in a good time slot in Europe. What next? Will we be seeing Phillip Island installing lighting rigs
so they can run at 2pm CET? Rediculous!

HELP! ENLIGHTEN ME!
Harryx asks about what folk saw on Internet streams.
Internet streams covering WSB?
WHAT & WHERE?
Fkn Terrestrial TV non-coverage of *proper* sporting events. Again. Pah!
I wonder how much SKY pay for their near monopoly?
I'd wonder why they're let too, if it wasn't bleedin obvious the UK Gov only cares about bikes as an income stream.
