Despite Luca di Montezemolo hinting recently that pairing Fernando Alonso with Kimi Raikkonen at Ferrari would be ‘not desirable', Ross Brawn has underlined that although the Scuderia's president suggested Alonso would not join Maranello whilst the reigning world champion was there, that did not mean he would never join forces with the scarlet brigade.
Yes but its true. Button is too confortable and Rubens by then would probably (and sadly) be out of the picture. When the car starts to deliver Button will probably be Number 2 and a driver strong like Alonso would ben recruitedt to give no-nonsense results.

After a dodgy start to the season, both Ferrari drivers seem to have now settled down and are doing a reasonably good job with the best car on the grid, tested and developed by Michael Schumacher. McLaren, BMW-Sauber and Toyota are three teams who have sky high budgets but the development of these teams is stunted due to the lack of a top notch development driver. I am not talking here about raw speed, or sheer aggression when racing, but someone that can develop the car race by race to be just that step in fron of the competition.
It took 2 years for Ross and Michael to get Ferrari on a winning streak of five WDC's and CC's in a row, so the guy knows what he is talking about when......
I see NR or RK driving for him one day. In particular the Pole is really intriguing, but the way BMW's are developing why would he leave? On the other hand, It's a great choice for Fernando.

.... he said that Ferrari have not in reality closed the door on Fernando. Brawn goes on to state that at present there are only two or three drivers that stand out from the rest and that Fernando is one of them. Others think that in development, setup and car improvement Fernando is the present number 1 driver, and there is no doubt that Honda will be after him should they start to make headway with their designs. McLaren are now paying for their follies for letting the British media control the teams decisions last year and are now paying the consequencies by being second stringers to Ferrari. BMW and Toyota can only dream of the ultimate success for the moment, neither Kubica.....
.......Heidfeld or Trulli are WDC material, and McLaren can only dream to get there again after 8 long years if they have a development race driver of the calibre of either Michael ot Fernando, both of whom are definetely not available to them.
It seems that Ross Brawn is already working on a winning strategy for Honda for the near future. Good luck to him.
It's about time someone gave FA his dues he took renault to 2 WC and after he left, renault went belly-up. I hope honda gets him in '09 i.e. if honda has made the improvements that FA yearns for by then. It's a pity that such a fine driver has to rot another year w/o realizing his full potential.

Reno i have worked out why you type so much on here. It is because nobody can hear you talk because your head is to far up Alonso's backside.
Ralf registered, I don't think that you can work out in which hole you have to use your toilet paper, but by the way you write and attack others personally I would think that you use it on your face. Can't you post something remotely intelligent for a change? Can't you comment on the topic in hand maybe you will teach us something?
Registered RALF, you are the only genius with an IQ of 10 on this forum, brains aren't everything, in fact in your case they are absolutely nothing. I don't know what makes you so dumb but it does really work. When are you going to take an interest in F1, and enlighten us with your knowledge, rather that continue to give this site a bad name by your presistent personal attack on others.
Reno SP, spot on as usual, I totally agree with your statement that McLaren, BMW and Toyota although they are big spenders lack drastically in the real development sector. They can build good cars and engines but the fine tuning touch of a Shumacher or an Alonso is missing.

RENO: "After a dodgy start to the season, both Ferrari drivers seem to have now settled down and are doing a reasonably good job with the best car on the grid, tested and developed by Michael Schumacher." Are you serious about the F2008 is tested and developed by Ferrari?

Kimi retires at the end of 2009 season. Free to do what he wants aged 30. It will all gell out when he announces it publicly.

I cant understand why Brawn would say this now. There's nothing to be gained by offering a purely academic opinion that won't even be reailzed for two years, if at all... and all it will do is give his drivers the message that he doesn't think they're good enough. Sometimes, Brawny, discretion is the better part of valor. If you dont have something useful to say, then shut your piehole.
Barichello at 36 would be retiring shortly from F1 for sure, and although Jenson is only still 28 and has been in F1 for some time has not really been a shining light with any of the teams he raced for. If Ross Brawn's edict from Honda is to make them a winning team in as short a time as possible, then he has to look at the whole picture from design philosophy, development and drivers lineup. Excluding the new drivers, there are drivers who have been in F1 for a long time but will never make it to WDC, to name a few: Coulthard, Fissichella, Heidfeld, Barichello, Button, Trulli. From the rest Ross would only pick Fernando and Kimi, backed by a fast second driver. That's the way it's done.
Don't agree with Simon, he said 2 or 3, if Alonso is one of the top driver then the next one must surely be Kimi and he's trying to say Shamilton might be the other one to put it politely.
I suppose if Kimi wins the treble after the 2009 season along with about 30 victories he could retire at 30 and the best logical solution would be to see Alonso and maybe Vettel teaming up at Ferrari for 2010.
Certaintly don't agree with Reno SP! I think if he had the right car Button could win the title, maybe even Trulli, don't underestimate Trulli I think if he and Shamilton were in the same car he would out qualify Lewis more often than not! Also Button is a very good all rounder and awesome in the wet, not as bad as you may seem to think, after all it was Jenson that practically finished Villeneuve's career back in 2003 and Villeneuve was a world champion in 97, I'd rate Button higher than Massa.
On current form, Kimi could certainly make it a trifecta. I know it's early days inthe season, but unless things go to hell this season for him, he's on track for a successful defense of his title. That would make it two WDCs in the bag. And in 2009 with aero aids gone, I expect him to be much much stronger compared to most of the field.
I don't think a Honda revival is on the cards for 2009. Maybe 2010 and beyond. They may become the best of the rest behind the top three and challenge for the occasional but that's about it. Renault may do it though - if FA sticks around.
@Reno SP "Brawn goes on to state that at present there are only two or three drivers that stand out from the rest and that Fernando is one of them."
Renato, I read this article, and nowhere Brown states that in the body of this clip (about Fernando that is). Your quote is at best a creation of your mind. So, please stick to facts and do not cite your desires as evidence.
