Huge traffic increase for Crash.net.

Crash.net is delighted to announce that its 2008 traffic to date has grown by a colossal 78 per cent year-on-year, with that figure continuing to increase as Formula One returns to European soil.

Congratulations! But, in my opinion, you should update this website with a new and more modern interface.

Good for you, it does remain the best source of 2 and 4 wheeled motorsports stuff in one place!

However, I'm sure many would agree that the level of advertising is too much, with so much traffic, surely you could afford to have less intrusive ads?

Many thanks for your feedback, we are always interested in our user's viewpoints, be they good, bad or indifferent.

We are working on a new look site which will have additional content, a better user experience and less intrusive advertising which will ultimately provide you with an even better Crash.Net.

On the subject of advertising which I know can sometimes be a pain, we generate a huge amount of content, employ in excess of 20 full time staff, 10 freelancers and attend events around the world

Our content has always been free of charge unlike a number of our competitors.

All that I ask is that you consider this when viewing the site.

Many thanks

BW

Off course traffic is up. Never have so many people be interested in seeing Max get the push!

@ Max Well

With more traffic, advertising is more necessary because it will cost more to run the site. The advertising is very ugly though - see the above picture to see what a mess it looks! So I look forward to a new look site because it certainly needs it.

Glad to see Crash.net doing well though.

Its one of my favourite sites for motorsport news, but that casino popup is a major pissoff espacially the way it tries to get you to click the wrong confirmation button to get rid of it, and if your making so much money why not put some back into the sport and bung Super Aguri a few million.

Crash.net is great but it really needs to remove those annoying popups. We are interested in motor racing, not gambling. If we want to go to a Casino site, we know how to use Google. It makes this site look cheap and its an insult to its readers. At least remove it for the people who care enough to register.

I agree with the comments regarding the casino popups. Please get rid of them! I'm happy for advertising to appear on the site as I know it generates income but the popups are extremely annoying. I nearly stopped visiting the site until I switched to Firefox which effectively stops them appearing.

I use the Adblock Plus extension with Firefox. Bam! No ads ever, pop-up or otherwise!

(and this isn't an ad)

I am amazed at the number of people who do not seem to grasp that the way crash earns money is vie adverts just like ITV,No ads,no crash. This is the reason they put controversial headlines which get lots of responses, the more viewers, the happier the advertisers! Without the various Hamilton/Mosley stories I am certain the viewing figures would have been nothing special?
