One year ago, Stoner arrived at Shanghai - also round four of the world championship - with a ten point lead over Valentino Rossi and two races wins already in the bag.
Will somebody please help casey with his PR I'm not his biggest fan but even I'm starting to feel sorry for him...Points not important....

He's looking for excuses for his current form. Now that the other bikes manufacturers have picked up the pace, even though Ducati still has more outright power then other bikes, the skill of other riders are showing. I wonder if Stoner will start crashing as he did with Honda now that it's no longer that easy. I hope he doesn't crash because I want other riders to beat him straight up.

Of course points aren't important when you have a winning buck toothed smile and fabulous personality! He's just thinking about all the merchandise he'll get a cut of. When he gets to Philip Island!!!!!
stoner's comments seem valid at this early stage but a points gap can suddenly grow bigger.stoner's mindset has to change from last year's.after all has previous world champs would admit it's hard to win a championship but harder to retain one.and seeing how stoner reacts when thing's dont go his way has he at this stage the maturity to handle the pressure.(having to much to soon)
People don't win world championships if there not good riders. Yes the ducati had an advantage last year but correct me if i'm wrong wasn't there a little italian rider with the same machinery aswell?
At the end of the day you still need someone to sit on it and ride the thing. Maybe Ducati went the wrong way over winter or the rest have caught up but they've admitted they've got problems and there dealing with them.
I think if Casey was going to start counting points at this stage of the season it would show a lack of ambition and faith in ducati.

Lets see how the next three races pan out, Rossi and his rival Stoner are comming people, lorenzo would be wise to say little as he is just about to start his reverse course, hopefuly he'll drag Dani with him.

Points not collected at the beginning are points not tallyed at the end.
"We know the season started in Qatar and only the riders who have not had good results so far are the ones who say the season starts now." -Jorge Lorenzo

This season will be alot closer point wise, i think Casey believes he'll be ok because of this, but he'll have to pull his socks up if he wants to challenge as it can easily go pear shaped, as it stands with the extra talent this year, any of the top 5 runners could bag it.

Points not important???? Since when? Every point counts especially this year when nearly everyone has caught up with Ducati's speed and they've also made bikes that are much easier to ride even for satellite teams who are getting good points outthere. Maybe Stoner should remember Nicky Hayden in 2006 with only 2 outright wins and a lot of regular placements won a championship.

points count from race no 1 to race no 17.....how can he even pass such a comment?? it's totally senseless!! does he mean to say he is guaranteed of wining the next 5 races in a row and that Dani and Lorenzo and Rossi are going to come in 5th and 9th and 11th???
he can't go to Honda he can't go to Yamaha..he knows going to Suzuki and Kawasaki will do him no good so the only thing he has left is Ducati and if Ducati and he cannot sort out the mess they are in then Casey is going to be Nickey Hayden Part 2 !!!

Nicky Hayden part 2?Perhaps,but he has enough race wins to last for another 10 to 15 years,if that is to be the case. And 1 outright race winning championship! Which may forever put him ahead in the Stoner vs Hayden series?G.

I agree with what has been said so far. Points count the same either they come from the first race or from the last. Let's hope he finds his pace so we see some hot action. Up till now, in all three races we have seen so far, after half-distance there wasn't any overtaking for the first 3 positions. And that's bad in my book.
Sounds to me that Ducati is worried. All of a sudden they want rider input Biaggi, Bayliss...They even talked to the satelite team for input(Elias). It was clear from the start that the GP8 was not cutting it anymore.
I wonder whether a twinpulse 800cc for everyone (except Stoner) would be the way to go. Clearly you do not need a "screamer" to win. Yamaha is the perfect example of how to built a bike using lessions learnt from the past. TC and electronics don't give confidence if they are too intrusive. The rider needs to be in control.
Stoner is just making reasons for their underperformance this year. Lorenzo's phrase is remarkably to the point Hope he'll be up there though...

I think he's sending out a message to the other riders.. Points so far have not been important, because he's confident he'll dominate the rest of the season like last year. Seriously, he may have a point. Bridgestone's two worst tracks last year were: you guessed it, Jerez and Estoril.
I'm just looking forward to some good racing, now that the other manu's (and hopefully Michelin) have stepped up their game.
Wow...what a dunce..obviously does not understand math, currently he would have to pull off 3 first (25 points)in a row to pull even with Dani and Jorge. Last year he was CHN 1st, FRA 3rd and ITA 4th. No way, no how can he get 3 first places. This next race in China long range weather forecast is for rain, so maybe he can. If no rain, he probably can win though, because of its'2 long straights, which put huge emphasis on horsepower (Ducati's strength), but it also have a mixture of slow corners and hard braking zones which is problematic right now for the Ducati. The next 2 are LeMans, then Mugello. Sorry, but he cannot win there. Yamaha and Honda is too strong at present.

Gina, and the rest of the 15-16 years old "champions" in the forum, with obviously some strong hormones problems affecting your thinking, I hope! if not, then your problem is not time dependent... oppps. As it is, what ever Casey will say (right or wrong), the regulars as Gina, Harryx will find something to pick on.Had Rossi said the same thing you will just worship his words. So Gina,go back to the TV-Shop channel, which fits much better you intellect.
hey stoney...afraid of counting points? why??? do you think without points you can win the crown this year?? keep on dreaming because dani or jorge or even vale will steal the crown from you...
