Compare the 'growth' of A1 with the apparent demise of Super Aguri...it's all about money.
Mr. Teixiera has not been slow spending his and his risk paid off, in managing to flip a US$220m loss in year one, over to Nomura. I know for a fact that A1GP has approached one big name F1 star (not Fisi or DC), and offered to pay him US$4m as a one-off fee, to 'front' one of the teams. No need for him to appear at any more than one event per year, no need to race/test, no financial risk, no need to find sponsors etc., etc.
They wokred hard to appease Mr. Ecclestone, but the various actions of Mr. Tex in the last weeks will have harmed that relationship, I'm sure...watch this space
