Massa: Ferrari were flat-out in Barcelona.

Massa: Ferrari were flat-out in Barcelona.

Felipe Massa has given the lie to those who suggested Ferrari were merely cruising and had plenty in-hand in the Spanish Grand Prix a week ago, but insisting both he and race-winning team-mate Kimi Raikkonen were ‘flat-out' throughout the opening two-thirds of the race.

The Hammie haters have already expressed that LH should just shut up and drive. Will they be as critical here with their beloved Ferrari driver saying exactly the same?I doubt it,real hypocrisy at work!!

Kimi was cruising.. Maybe Massa was at his full ability. With no way to pass I doubt either of the red cars were at full tilt. Ferrari PR machine at work.......

Dave you are going to have to do better than that. Is Massa really that beloved? I seem to recall him being critizied fairly heavily after his poor start to the season. I don't think that "Hammie haters" have as much of a problem with what LH says as much as the quantity of print space he takes up. Massa gets very little print space by comparison.

If you really want to stir things up go to a US political web site and play Clinton and Obama supporters off each other. The LH thing is getting old.

Given that Kimi usually doesn't bull$h|t, I guess that he had dialed it back a little bit, but Massa was pushing for all he was worth.
KR usually downplays his achievements as well as his pace, so when he says that he could have gone faster, I'm guessing he probably could have gone at least a couple of tenths quicker.
If I was Massa and on the back foot this season, I wouldnt have said that. Especially considering my teammate's already said he could have gone quicker if he wanted.

IF you take away the two safety cars the red rockets would of been about 20-30 seconds ahead at the end of the race. Maybe they were going full tilt. Who knows.
I was sure that they were about 6-8 seconds ahead each time they came out.(from memory of course).

I'm not surprised by this - it stands to reason that the Ferraris would have pulled a bigger gap before the 2nd stops if they could have done, just in case of mistakes in the pits. But clearly everybody was cruising at the end as there's no overtaking at Barcelona so what's the point of racing?

I think he's wrong about qualifying though - 3 of the 4 cars behind Raikkonen on the pole side of the track overtook the car ahead of them on the other side, and this happens at some other circuits also, where there's a clean side and a dirty side. So it's better to qualify 3rd than 2nd etc. He reckons qualifying 3rd cost him the race, but on the evidence he'd have been even worse off in 2nd.
