299 kelvin-metres per hour? Kilo is SI prefix, and SI is case-sensitive. Uppercase K stands for Kelvin degree.

Do you think writing like a semi-literate boob is cool? Kilometre is km, not Km or KM. All civilized countries have joined SI, I believe?

Is this a grammar forum or a motorcycle racing forum?

I'm suspected the laptime will go down as low as 1.41s when MotoGP circus arrive at Indianapolis. The top speed may goes as high as 305kph. It Seem quite similar to Jerez distant and laptime.

Surprised that a test rider is facter than Ben Spies....Canepa being on the faster bike but Spies know the circuit...

Why? No offense to American readers, but AMA SBK riders are in general not ready to perform at top levels in MotoGP. I seriously doubt they could perform at top levels in WSBK. The breeding grounds for WSBK are in BSB, not AMA. And even WSBK riders have problems enough to move from superbike to MotoGP and perform in the top 10. In my opinion, people underestimate the performance level of MotoGP (or over-estimate the level of AMA SBK/WSBK). They are just not in the same league.

Booti - it's a brand new circuit... but Spies will have a huge advantage come first practice. If this 'no regular riders' thing is a rule, then seems to me Spies should, as a scheduled rider, be barred from extra time at a circuit on the calendar. Let him get as much time as he can on the bike at any non-calendar (or already contested) circuit, for sure, but there seems to be something not quite kosher about this IF it is a rule.

@tm, Nicky Haiden came from AMA SBK, and how did he do? Ah yes, he became world champion....

So thats why Spies turned down the chance to ride in place of the hurt Loris, Extra practice time at the next round at Indianapolis, smart boy.

Yeah? And how long did it take him to become competitive? A couple of years.
Regardless, instead of being offended, read what I said. Particularly the part where I said "in general": as in there are exceptions.
And in general, AMA SBK riders are not at MotoGP levels and are not competitive.

Spies will be nowhere i reckon ... anyway moto gp shopuldnt be racing in a track with a wall, that s bs righ there
I agree with you Oscar, he can set up the bike nicely for the race, it is probably a scheme to try and have an American rider do well at Indianapolis so he can pull crowds and promote MotoGP in the States. He'll have it tough anyway as the rest of the field is used to the bikes so they might struggle a bit in the first practice sessions but I'm sure the top riders will overtake him left and right come raceday. Spies missed a chance of getting some valuable tracktime at Assen
Nicky won agter a lot of years in the best team, when HOnda did have the best bike. Sure he s a worthy chamo but it s a fact hat given that now Yamaha has a bike at least on par with the Honda,, Nicky doesnt stand a chance. And that s withouty considering Pedrosa on the same bike as him, and Stoner on the Duke.
Seems thats spies, through no fault of his own, is getting a bad reputation from the wonderful and oh so friendly MotoGP fans.
He is not breaking any rules taking part in this test. Any other ride would do the same as him given the same chance. And because he is AMA that means he is not good enough for MotoGP? He is on track for his 3rd championship in the row, if that isnt enough ti be given a chance in MotoGP what is? From his Donnington performance it seems he very much as what it takes. But someone has to give him a go to know for sure.
As for getting an advantage. That will be in the first session, maybe first day only, and whats the big deal there...
