STR success reignites 'customer' debate.

Sebastian Vettel's victory in Monza has brought the simmering 'customer car' row back into the spotlight.

Frank Williams is a hypocrite. When he first started in F1 he used customer cars, and continued to do so for several years. Hell, Jackie Stewart won his first championship in a customer car, a Matra!

At the end of the day we all want to see cars on the track racing a full grid would be great for the sport.

Why cant F1 have two championships one for customer cars the other for manufactures and the same for drives
they do same in other forms of motor sport ie this years car and then 1 year old cars why not F1

As the article states most race fans dont care how may wind tunnels you run they just want to see great racing with overtaking allowed HI

It's an interesting topic, with ups and downs on both sides. The current eco climate does lean towards the customer car side, but in all fairness, this is F1. If you're worried about money, then F1 really isn't the sport to compete in at all.

I like Williams a lot, so maybe that makes my view biased or something, but they talk a lot of sense. Why should they invest everything in their car when anyone can just come along and buy something (similar concept to Indycar) and jump on the podium? It's not that easy of course, but what happens when we start seeing customer McLaren's and Ferrari's? Would that be fair on Renault, Toyota, Williams etc?

That's my view anyway

Williams makes good points, but I know this: F1 is usually very boring racing with incredible machinery. Indy Car consistently puts on the best oval racing and decent road course racing with one engine and a few chassis. And this is from someone who despises Tony George and his League.
