Fuji pole 'best lap of Hamilton's F1 career'.

Lewis Hamilton's pole position for Sunday's Japanese Grand Prix at Fuji Speedway has been lauded as ‘possibly the best lap of his career so far' – even though the Formula 1 World Championship leader himself admitted it ‘wasn't perfect'.

Mindless Mind Games.. But Ron's job is to play them.

I've just realised why Lewis Hamilton is so good in the wet. He's got FINS attached to his arms- check it out- www.crash.net/picture.asp?tid=&id=170304&pid=1

I reckon LH was put out on a points/podium fuel load, with the expectation Ferrari would have to go light to grab the front row, and the hope that staying out longer would play out through the pitstops.

Two things changed that. 1) Hamilton wrung a fast lap out of a heavy car. 2)Massa allowed himself to get jumped by a couple of mid-order cars.

The pitcrew certainly seemed surprised to get pole.

We wont know until tomorrow if it was his best qualifying or not. If LH is heavier than the immediate people behind him then there may be some argument there. I just hope Kimi does not do anything stupid in the 1st turn.

Mouse - I completely agree. If KR and FM pit before LH, then it was a cracking lap.

If there is a GOD, LH will make a dog's dinner out of Fuji and the lords will shine upon Kubica. LH is a rookie and has made so many rookie mistakes and endangered the lives of other F1 drivers that he does not deserve the title. He is reckless and single-minded in his ludicrous request to be world chumpion! There are so many others deserving of the title. Geeze, haven't seen the wheelchair-bound Hamilton brother, perhaps he's walking now!

Gordo, muppet comments like the one you made above just aren't necessary! Of course he's going to make mistakes, everyone has made mistakes this year. As for your comment on his brother, not sure what that was all about :-s

I suppose you were a Schumacher fan before he retired, kind of ignorant tit that thinks they know what theyre on about!

and chokes and blows it in the first corner and causes a huge mess, if they penalize Massa for a "racing deal" then Hammy should get worse for causing a much bigger mess! Gotta love how the Brits stand up for Hammy with such a blind eye, seriously it's getting kind of old.........

Hamilton blew it and lost his head.

But the FIA set their own precedent in Spa penalizing both Hamilton for gaining an apparent advantage and Kovi for hitting Webber and causing an avoidable action.

To be in any way consistent I guess they need to penalize Massa as he both cut the chicane and punted hamilton.

Personally I think it's all bollox, but like I said the precedent has been set by the FIA. Spa was a dumb decision for many reasons

and they both get drive through penalties. What a joke. You even get a penalty now for pushing a driver wide. I don't really think Massa should get one either, it was a risky move and Hamilton took a chance.

I really can't beleive the joke F1 has turned into over the last few years. They have totally killed it.
