Justin Wilson is returning to the circuit where he claimed his maiden Champ Car World Series win with confidence, as the championship moves to Toronto for the seventh race of the season.

Determined to bounce back from the disappointment of finishing 13th in Cleveland, Wilson has come under pressure from recently departed RuSport team-mate A.J. Allmendinger in the championship standings after the American scored back-to-back victories in Portland and Cleveland on his debut with Forsythe Racing.

Still, Wilson retains second place in the championship, just 26 points behind leader Sebastien Bourdais, and is hoping his good memories from 2005 will help him claim a repeat win around the streets of the Canadian street circuit.

“Obviously I got my first Champ Car win here last year for CDW and RuSPORT so I've got fond memories of the event”, he said. “It's one of the toughest races on the calendar in terms of set-up, because of the mix of fast flowing corners and tight bumpy turns as well as the different track surfaces. The balance of the car changes all the time as the track rubbers in and that also keeps everyone on their toes.”

Looking back on a consistent but not triumphant start to the season so far, Wilson remains frustrated not to have claimed a win yet this year, something critical in his hopes to hold off Allmendinger and Bourdais, who have taken all six wins between them.

“We've shown a lot of potential over the first six races, but haven't been able to convert that into a win yet. It won't be easy, but we'll be working hard to try and repeat last year's result.”
