As expected, Dale Coyne Racing will run two cars in this year's unified IndyCar Series, confirming 2007 Champ Car driver Bruno Junqueira alongside rookie Mario Moraes.

DCR will enter its 25th year of Indycar-style racing, and has confirmed that it will participate in all 20 races on the 2008 schedule - as well as the Champ Car farewell in Long Beach on 20 April.

"I have done this a long time, first driving, then qualifying several rookies at the Indy 500 over the years," the eponymous team owner reflects, "I cannot tell you how much going back to Indy means to me. To go back and truly be competitive is a great dream and challenge."

Junqueira sat on the Indy 500 pole in 2002 and will return to the Brickyard at the wheel of the #18 Dallara after a stellar 2007 Champ Car season in which he took three successive podiums for the under-funded team, finishing seventh overall.

"This season brings new challenges - a new series, new car, new tracks - but, at the end of the day, everybody is starting from scratch," he said, "I love the ovals and really look forward to getting back to Indy. Dale and I both have some unfinished business to do there."

Fellow countryman Moraes graduates from the British F3 Championship, and was set to race for Coyne in the Champ Car series before it merged with the IndyCar Series last month.

"This is quite a challenge for me, but I am excited to learn with Dale's experience with rookies, and with Bruno, who I know can help me a lot."

Coyne indicates that, like the other squads making the transition from the CCWS to IndyCars, his team had been working long hours, after having been given less than two weeks to prepare both its Dallara-Hondas cars for the opening test at Sebring, but insists that it will complete both the road course session and the two-day oval test at Homestead next week.
