"I think that the second day is the day we need to get into the show," she revealed, "The first day is really tough. We're not a top-eleven team right now, and I think that it would be a real high expectation to ask for from a team that just built a car. We're finishing up wiring looms and hard lines that we're building for the very first time, so it's difficult to expect that. But, for sure, I think we can put it in the show on the second day of the first weekend."
Although not a part of her initial schedule, many expected Fisher to appear at last weekend's race at Kansas Speedway as preparation for the 500, but she insists that there were several matters that meant she would be sticking to her limited outings.
"We plan on competing at Kentucky and Chicago, but we're still working out the details on who is going to be on the sidepod and all that stuff that goes along with it. But we'll be at Kentucky and Chicago, and we're excited to start with the three races. It gives us sort of a springboard into 2009, which actually looks a lot better than 2008 for us.
"We're appreciative to have these three races to build upon for the future, because we're not planning on being just a one- or two-year wonder. We want to build Sarah Fisher Racing into a big team that's around for many years to come. As a start-up year, we're working real hard to make sure everything is a smooth transition."
