Sarah Fisher to contest races at Kentucky, Chicagoland.

Sarah Fisher has secured backing that will allow her to make a return to the IndyCar Series for the events at Kentucky and Chicagoland later in the season.

Fisher will drive the #67 Sarah Fisher Racing Dallara at Kentucky on 9 August and in Chicago on 7 September after securing backing from Dollar General, who will be making their first foray into sponsorship in the IndyCar Series.

Kentucky in particular holds fond memories for Fisher as the circuit where she became the first female driver to take pole for a major open-wheel race.

"Dollar General's sponsorship of SFR for two races this year has energised my team," she said. "We're all excited to be racing for Dollar General. It's great to return to Kentucky with my own team. I've done well there in the past, and I believe I can do just as well or better with my own team behind me. We're going to do our best to bring home a victory for the team and Dollar General."
