Darren Turner is to return to the Team Modena line-up for the second time this season at
Silverstone as he aims to help the team to success in its home round of the Le Mans Series next month.
Turner, who drove the team's Aston Martin DBR9 at Sebring earlier in the year, will partner Antonio Garcia in the penultimate round of the year with regular driver Christian Fittipaldi having commitments elsewhere, and he said he was looking forward to taking part in the race.
"It's going to be great to get another chance to drive the Aston Martin with Team Modena," he said. "I'd like to thank Rik Bryan and Graham Schultz for the opportunity. I'm also really looking forward to racing again at Silverstone in front of my 'home' crowd.
"The GT1 category of the Le Mans Series is very competitive, with a lot of strength in depth, and it should be a great battle. Antonio now knows the car really well, and remains one of the quickest out there, as we saw at Le Mans, so it's all good as far as I'm concerned!"
Team Modena sporting director Rik Bryan said he was pleased to have Turner back at the wheel of the car he helped to victory on its first major international outing back in 2005.
"I'm delighted to have Darren back in DBR9/101, especially after his Le Mans triumph with David Brabham and Rickard Rydell," he said. "Antonio, the team and I can't wait to work with Darren again, back in an Aston in front of the British crowd for the first time since Le Mans."
