Nicolas Minassian admits he cannot wait to pilot the Peugeot 908 HDI around his favourite circuit of
Silverstone as he bids to return to the winner's circle following a disappointing few rounds.
Although Minassian and Marc Gene have been arguably the quickest combination in the Le Mans Series having scored pole position in each of the four races this season, reliability dramas mean the Franco-Spanish have only won once and retired twice.
Nonetheless, Minassian is excited about the prospect of returning to the British circuit having tasted success there in past racing in Formula 3 and also in the Le Mans Series with Creation.
"Silverstone is my all-time favorite race track," Minassian said. "I like Silverstone even more than places like Spa or Monza. The section through Copse and Beckets is fantastic – I can't wait to drive the Peugeot there.
"I've been on pole in Formula 3 on the full Grand Prix circuit and also won there in Formula 3000 so this track has always been good to me.”
Minassian is also pleased to be bringing the 908 HDI to British shores for the first time ahead of what will be the penultimate round of the series.
"I think the fans are going to be very excited about the entire championship. We have a very full grid and it is a great challenge for us," Minassian said.
"The Peugeot is really fast – through the corners it is almost as fast as a
Formula 1 car. It is really impressive and while the diesel-powered cars are pretty quiet, it does make a bit of noise – not as quiet as people expect."
