In LMP2, just one team will field a multi-car entry, with Embassy Racing set to debut its all new WF01-Zytek during the season ahead. Although drivers were already announced, the entry list shows that Jonny Kane will be partnered by Warren Hughes, with recently announced Mario Haberfeld partnering Joey Foster. Horag Racing, Team Essex and van Merksteijn Motorsport will all run the Porsche RS Spyder as the car runs in Europe for the first time, while the ‘usual suspects' also figure with the likes of RML, Barazi Epsilon and Quifel-ASM set to renew battle during the year ahead. One team missing, however, is the Le Mans-winning Binnie Motorsports outfit, with team owner Bill Binnie having put his racing programme to one side to deal with family issues.
As is the case in the ALMS, the GT1 category is somewhat lacking in numbers for the season ahead with just five cars signed up the season. Luc Alphand and his team return with a brace of Corvette C6.Rs, while Team Modena will again fly the flag for Aston Martin with its DRB9. The IPB Spartak Racing team will run a Lamborghini Murcielago, while Larbre Competition will switch to a Saleen S7R – the car that shone in ORECA's hands last season.
In GT2, the scene is set for another exciting season with four manufacturers set to be represented amongst the 14-car field. Porsche and
Ferrari dominate, with six 997 and four F430 GTs on the entry, including defending champion Rob Bell and the Virgo Motorsports crew. Bell has a new team-mate for the season ahead, however, in the shape of Gianmaria Bruni, with 2007 partner Allan Simonsen part of a strong looking line-up at Farnbacher Racing, where he will be joined by Porsche factory driver Richard Westbrook.
