Embassy Racing has confirmed that it will miss this weekends Le Mans Series group test at Paul Ricard after a delay to its 2008 programme.
The team was forced to delay its debut with the new WF01 following the collapse of composite partner RTN, which delayed composite work on the new car and meant the build of the team's two cars was put back several weeks.
New composite partners URT have pulled out all the stops to help Embassy get back on track and while one car is now fully built, the second still have some work to be done with the team electing to miss the French test before taking both cars out on track together to prepare for the season ahead.
“Bar the setback with RTN, everything else is on schedule and in place for the coming season,” team boss Jonathan France said. “We have all our personnel, vehicles and logistics in place, our drivers are under contract and raring to go. We are in good shape to run two cars for the season.
“Obviously we are disappointed we will not make Ricard, but I still think we have a programme that will allow us to prepare the cars to be competitive right from the start of the season.”
Although the four drivers for the season have been announced, the final pairings have not been decided and a decision on who drives with whom will be taken following a full analysis of the March test programme.
