Despite the conditions being far from ideal, team principal Jonathan France was pleased with how the test had progressed as the cars carrying the initials of his son William hit the track for the first time.

“Despite the weather we have achieved exactly what we wanted to do today and it has been a great platform for us to be able to do some more rigorous testing at the Nurburgring in a few days time,” he said. “There is still plenty of work to be done in the meantime but I am confident that we will be in good shape after more extensive set-up work in Germany.”
