New WF01 hits the track at Catalunya.

Embassy Racing endured a trying start to life with its new LMP2 chassis after both of its cars were forced to retire from the opening round of the Le Mans Series in Spain.

The team went into the weekend eager to put in a solid show with its new WF01-Zytek with Warren Hughes qualifying in seventh place in class in the #45 car he shared with Mario Haberfeld and Jonny Kane posting the tenth fastest time in the sister car he was racing alongside former single-seater ace Joey Foster.

Unfortunately for the team, the race itself would end in disappointment when a failure with the steering system on his car forced Foster to pull off to the side of the circuit just 41 laps into the season opener.

With the team unsure of the reason for the failure, the sister car was retired on the spot with the Embassy squad electing to bring both cars back to the UK to allow the team to carry out a full report into the issue before the second round of the season at Monza.
