Friday, 20th October 2006

Ricky Carmichael may be starting a new career in NASCAR from 2007, but AMA rival Chad Reed might also be considering a four-wheel switch after a very impressive debut in a V8 Supercar.

"That was without a doubt one of the most impressive V8 rookie debut drives I have ever seen," enthused Morris. "We were delighted to be able to give Chad the opportunity to test drive the car, he would certainly be an asset to V8 Supercars if he decided to make to the transition over."

The test was organised with the assistance of Yamaha Motor Australia and director/general manager Steven Cotterell said he was excited to have been able to provide Reed with the opportunity.

"Chad has been a great ambassador for both Yamaha and Australia by beating the Americans in their own back garden. His achievements have single handedly raised the profile of dirt bikes across the globe, and we are certain there will be plenty of interest and excitement surrounding his performance on four wheels," he said. "Yamaha Motor Australia would like to thank Fluid PR, Paul Morris Motorsport and V8 Supercars for assisting us in making this happen."
