Coppins was beaten by KTM's Jonathan Barragan in moto one, but victory in race two handed the Yamaha star his fifth grand prix triumph of the season. Barragan fell in the final outing but was still able to claim second overall, ahead of Suzuki's Steve Ramon. Poleman Sebastien Pourcel, of GPKR, rode to a solid fourth place, after earning two more points than KTM
Red Bull's David Philippaerts.
Josh is now 97 points ahead of Ramon in the championship, with rookies Philippaerts and Pourcel third and fourth, although both on 222 points. Barragan completes the top five, ahead of Kevin Strijbos, who has dropped down to sixth after sitting out of the Bulgarian GP due to a knee injury.
In the MX2 class, Cairoli had another memorable weekend, grasping his sixth double victory of the season. Reigning world champion Christophe Pourcel was on pole, but finished just sixth in race one before claiming second to Cairoli in race two. That wasn't enough for the Frenchman to finish on the overall podium and instead it was KTM team-mates Tyla Rattray and Tommy Searle that stood either side of Cairoli.
Former champion Cairoli is now leading the championship by 83 points over Pourcel, with Rattray now just 11 points further back. Pascal Leuret holds on in fourth, but Searle is now fifth and only one point behind.
The next round of the FIM Motocross World Championship will be in Uddevalla, Sweden, on July 1.
