Portugal was seventh, but with Joaquim Rodrigues leading the first laps of the Open class heat they were hoping for a better result.

France, eighth, struggled a little bit with Open class rider Pierre Alexandre Renet, finishing twenty-eighth, while Sebastien Pourcel and Nicolas Aubin both entered the top six of their heats.

Great Britain was ninth, and Spain rounded off the top ten.

New Zealand was the most disappointed country at the end of the day, as both Ben Townley and Daryl Hurley injured themselves in practice and did not race their qualifying heats. Only Cody Cooper raced, finishing eleventh, leaving New Zealand last of the 31 countries and out of the main event.

Sunday's race schedule will be as follows: Warm-up B-Final at 8:40 am; Warm-up MXoN Group 1 at 9:10 am; Warm-up MXoN Group 2 at 9:40 am; B-Final at 11:00 am; MXoN Race 1 (MX1+MX2) at 1:08 pm; MXoN Race 2 (MX2+Open) at 2:38 pm; MXoN Race 3 (Open+MX1) at 4:08 pm.
